I was supposed to have Mistress Storm join me here at my place tomorrow afternoon, but I got a very important call today, reminding me it is time for my yearly mammogram.

However many years ago, I was a good doobie and went for my first mammogram, just like all women should do. I was OK with it, it was important to do, and I didn’t mind the squishing so much…I also wasn’t worried, no history of breast cancer in my family, so no worries, right?

Except they found a spot, in my left breast. For a few seconds the entire world fell away and the only thing I heard and felt and saw and smelled were the words “We found a spot…” They checked and looked at it a couple of different ways, and decided that maybe it wasn’t something to worry about, even though they didn’t know for sure what it was, so we decided to just monitor it. For two years I went every six months, and it never changed…always there, always the same, it never got bigger, smaller, changed shape or anything, but it was still there. We decided I could go back to yearly exams, and since then it has been there every year, no different. I don’t expect it to be any different tomorrow, either.

So yeah, important phone call.

P.S. I’ll be back around over the weekend, I still have a couple of scene stories to tell you, then NEXT Friday I will be in Tempe with Mistress Storm.

Oh, honey! I had no idea that there was something going on worthy of “keeping an eye on”. I know firsthand how scary that is. During a yearly exam when I was 24, my doctor found a lump in my breast, and ended up being worried enough to schedule a biopsy. She told me not to worry, but sent me home with pamphlets about cancer treatment options.

No, I didn’t worry at all (facepalm).

Turned out to be nothing, but it was still scary for awhile until the results came back.

I’m sorry we couldn’t hook up this week, but I’m looking forward to next. 🙂
